Director and producer Robert Rippberger is making waves in the film industry with his latest project, “Monstrosity.” Rippberger, who recently wrapped the sci-fi thriller “Renner” with Frankie Muniz, is now heading to the European Film Market in Berlin to launch the sales unit of his banner SIE Films. The flagship film of this new venture is the highly anticipated horror thriller “Monstrosity,” which is currently in pre-production.
“Monstrosity” is a creature feature that Rippberger will produce and direct. To bring the titular monsters to life, Rippberger has enlisted the talents of concept artist Aaron Sims, known for his work on popular projects such as “Stranger Things,” “Ready Player One,” and “Wonder Woman 1984.” The film’s production is set to begin later this year in one of the Morgan International full-service special effects facilities in Europe. Joining Rippberger as a producer is writer Sabir Pirzada, known for his work on “Moon Knight” and “Ms. Marvel.”
A Unique Take on Classic Monsters
“Monstrosity” follows the story of a young village boy who goes missing down a mine shaft. His father suspects a strange family living nearby, but soon discovers that they are actually a werewolf, a vampire, a zombie, and Frankenstein’s monster. Together, they guard the mine to keep evil forces at bay. Rippberger aims to immerse these classic monsters into the 21st century, much like how “The Avengers” reimagined superheroes. The film is set to flip traditional horror genre tropes on their head.
Expanding SIE Films’ Slate
In addition to “Monstrosity,” SIE Films’s lineup for the European Film Market includes the sci-fi thriller “Renner.” This film, starring Frankie Muniz, Violett Beane, and Taylor Gray, promises to captivate audiences with its thrilling storyline. Also featured is Friedrich Moser’s documentary “How to Build a Truth Engine,” executive produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov. This thought-provoking film delves into investigative journalism and the fight against fake news.
Robert Rippberger’s foray into the European Film Market with the launch of SIE Films’ sales unit is an exciting development in his career. With “Monstrosity” as the flagship film, Rippberger is poised to make a mark in the horror genre by putting a fresh spin on classic monsters. As audiences eagerly await the release of this thrilling project, the success of Rippberger’s previous works, including “Renner” and “The Inventor,” showcases his talent and ability to deliver captivating storytelling. The European Film Market in Berlin is undoubtedly the perfect platform for Rippberger to showcase his latest endeavors and solidify his position in the industry.
