Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been appointed as the head coach of Washington Freedom ahead of the second edition of Major League Cricket (MLC). Ponting will take over from Greg Shipperd, who stepped down to focus on his coaching responsibilities with Cricket New South Wales Blues and the Sydney Sixers in Australia’s domestic circuit.
